Understanding Hotspurs Soccer

Before you register with The Nepean Hotspurs Soccer Club we want to ensure you understand what you will receive for the fees you pay and the level of commitment you will be expected to make.

The Nepean Hotspurs Soccer Club is a “DEVELOPMENT CLUB”, with its main activity being the optimal development of team play through the growth of individual technical skill. This Club focus is defined by four (4) distinct, fundamental elements; a) player’s development concept, b) best play with the best in any given age group and category, c) development of the player to his/her optimum and d) teaching/coaching universal principles of play through team play and individual player technical development. To support this, the Club has successfully assembled many highly qualified and motivated coaches. While games are played with the intent to win, the ultimate goal is not winning at any cost, but rather to create a happy environment in which players have a lot of fun, engage in healthy physical activity and improve their soccer skills.

The topnotch coaching, delivered by Hotspurs coaches under the guidance of our Staff coaches, permits our players to learn the game according to the latest methodology and principles in youth world soccer development today. The Hotspurs Club Head Coach designs and supervises all Club programs. He is a certified CSA “National A” licensed coach, the first to receive this designation in the region. He is supported by certified staff coaches with Canadian National “B” and Ontario Provincial Pre-B certification. All Hotspurs competitive team coaches are certified with a minimum Level 3 coaching certificate (Senior Community Certificate).

One of the most important achievements of the Club is that members are offered three different levels of soccer programs: a) recreational programs; b) competitive programs, and c) elite competitive programs. All three levels offer a different methodology and principle of coaching and all three have different requirements and commitments in terms of time and fees.

The following tables are provided to help you understand your choices and to assist you in finding the best level for you and/or your child to be happy and successful.
